"I guess it has been about 4 years since we purchased our home. We have done extensive remodeling, and are actually still in the process of remodeling. We are just as pleased as can be. We added an addition (1000 SF) more towards the lake for a better view, and we are currently working on a deck, so we can enjoy the outside a bit more. We bought the place for $225K and were appraised recently for 520K. The market is a bit down now, but we aren't selling any time soon. "Chris and I found out that we were going to have a baby come mid summer and we both knew that we wanted a home for our child, so we started actively looking for a house to purchase. It was a meat market for buyers and homes were sold the minute they were put up for sale. We had met some realtors at different houses we looked at, however no one seemed interested in what we wanted in a home, just sell, and get their cash. We then went to look at a house that could have been a good fixer upper and we met Anya Myer. As I was looking, Chris was talking to Anya and noticed she too was going to have a baby. She laughed because she could still hide it a little. He told her that he noticed because my belly was looking just like hers. Come to find out our due dates were just weeks apart! After seeing the house and talking with Anya we felt so comfortable with her and she understood our needs, wants, and the desire to have a home to raise our child in. She never sugar coated things and told us exactly what we were getting ourselves in to with each home we looked at, and if I didn't love the house she would encourage me to keep on looking and never to settle. For the next couple months she stayed up late, got up early, and drove all over the county to help us find a home. Every time we would begin to get discouraged Anya was right there to encourage us to keep looking, with out ever pushing. Reminding us that our house was out there somewhere and we will find it. One evening (10:30ish, up late again) Anya called me to let me know that a home was going on the market and she thought that it would be perfect. We made arrangements to meet the next morning. Oh my, was she right, I loved it. Just like she said, we walked in and I immediately knew that I wanted to live in this house. We looked for just a few minutes and I said lets start the paper work. We had to wait for Chris to get out of work, so it was a few hours before we got to the RE/MAX office. When we got there Anya had the paperwork started and from there it was all final details. We felt knowledgeable about the paperwork necessary to place an offer. Anya had already explained the details to us extremely well, answered all of our questions and broke each section down. So we were able to get it done quickly with out any hesitation. Then Anya took the liberty of writing a cover letter telling the sellers that we wanted a home to raise our child in, that I love the house. It has a large back yard, which was one of my need to haves and no one has, with just a little extra space in the house. It was our perfect starter home. Even though there were many other offers, some of which I'm sure were higher bids, the sellers accepted our offer and plans were made to fill out the final paper work. Shortly after Anya went in to premature labor and was ordered to bed rest. We wished her well, thanked her for all her support and understood if someone else needed to stand in to finalize the purchase. When we showed up we expected to see someone else, but we found Anya waiting at the office for us. We were shocked, that's dedication! Anya made the home buying process enjoyable; she dedicated herself to finding us a home, not just a house. She went above and beyond what I would expect any realtor to do. It has been just over four years now and we still love our home. I recommend her every time anyone mentions purchasing or selling a home, and I know that when or if we decide to move, she will be the first and only person I call." ~ Chris & Amber
